I’ve been on the search for games to speedrun. I would like the runs to be fairly short (<30 min, possibly 1hr max) and not be too mechanically demanding. For some reason I want to play on my (Android) phone, which means consoles on the older side (N64 - Wii) are easier to access. It would also be more satisfying to be an Any% or 100% run, in contrast to a specific level or section.
Here’s my current list:
- Mega Man Zero 1 (GBA) - ~17m Any%, ~35m All Missions
- Fairly precise movement and inputs, Complex combat, Some RNG manipulation

- Flameberger is the certified expert
- Arctic Tale (GBA) - ~5m Any%
- Fairly casual, Routing focused

- Kuru Kuru Kururin (GBA) - ~15m Any%
- Complex movement, Some out-of-bounds
- Old GameFAQ guide

- Metal Slug Advance (GBA) - ~12m Any%
- Kirby’s Dream Land (GB) - ~12m Any%
- Kirby & The Amazing Mirror (GBA) - ~30m Any%
- Kirby: Squeak Squad (DS) - ~40m Any%
- Densetsu no Stafy (aka Starfy 1) (GBA) - ~5m Beat the Game Glitched
Rocket Slime is one of my favorite childhood games, so I’m including them even if they have long runs.
- Slime Mori Mori Dragon Quest: Shōgeki no Shippo Dan (aka Rocket Slime 1) (GBA) - ~1:45hr Any%
- JP only, though there is a WIP EN translation
